There is no good in much of their secret conferences save (in) whosoever enjoineth charity and fairness and peace-making among the people and whoso doeth that, seeking the good pleasure of God, We shall bestow on him a vast reward.
(Al-Nisa, 4:114).

What next for Afghanistan?

Feb 10, 2010 | After Israel militarily ransacked Gaza, killed civilians and flattened the buildings. A similar conference was held in Europe with a lot of promises and pledges. A lot of money supposed to rain in Gaza. By now there should be a hectic and busy with rebuilding activities going on. The wounded should be receiving treatments. The people should be getting breads and meat. None on this took place. If fact Gaza is still under siege, Gaza is still a forbidden enclosure, Gaza is still the world largest open air prison. Gaza is still kept alive by the series of primitive tunnels infrastructure built into Egypt. The tunnels are the lifelines that brought into Gaza - the much needed foods and medical needs. All these tunnels are still frequently bombed and bombarded by Israel. Egypt is putting the last nails into the coffin "Gaza" by driving in iron curtains into their tunnels. Where are the big talks in Europe. Who are the real terrorists? If Europe and America fails in this promise of theirs? How on earth, can we expect those in Afghanistan to believe them and their Afghanistan London Conference! The Conferences, only looks good and beautiful propaganda for media consumptions and the TV shows. The reality is far from that. Get your London act together, fulfilled your pledges to Gaza. Give an example for the people of Afghanistan to be more optimistic and has a reason to look forward to your promises.

The Afghanistan London Conference - it is a similar exercise? There were a lot of financial pledges. A talk of reconciliation among the warring factions in Afghanistan. The idea of integration was promoted. Bribing or buying over the so-called terrorists, the Taliban was the main stay of the whole exercise with a promise of better economic, with more jobs for the surrendered "terrorist". For far away guys like us, we will start thinking, what had happened? The occupation forces have turned Afghanistan into one hell of a battlefield for "peoples war"? Forget about what we saw on TV screens or words coming out from politicians in the comfort of their offices in Downing Street and White House. The buy over sweeteners offered denote that the hearts and mind of the Afghans are no longer with the occupation forces. It is not a winnable war and a costly war too, for the occupation forces. It is now, cheaper to offer direct cash incentives, more cost effective to buy them into not fighting. After years of killing the Afghans civilians - women and children - do you think that , it will be workable? Who knows, Blood money may also be placed on the bargaining table! The Jurga has yet to sit!

Have these unprovoked and wrongly justified wars (Afghanistan and the Iraq war) bled NATO and the US terribly economically. In the process, it enriched the military industrial complexes owners at the expense of the tax paying working class. These war have increases the rich and poor gap, make the working class realises that there is a net transfer of wealth to the military complexes and created more class consciousness. A recipe for class struggle and brewing a revolution at home?

What next? What is the exit plan. Buy over peace, the prerequisite required, so that the masters, that initiate this foreign occupations, can now bring in corporations to suck and devour whatever economic benefits Afghanistan can offer to make good their ailing economies. If it need be, install a puppet local dictator, prop up by foreign armies or foreign intelligence or military contractors or mercenaries to facilitate that dirty job. It is high time that the world realises that the foreign occupation is the problem. With them came the destruction of the local economy, more poppies, rampant corruption, more guns, more drones, more hellfires and more killings.

The London Conference had made a decision akin to their previous London colonial past, relying probably on their past experience in Malaya fighting against Communist insurgents. At that time they could pit Malay-Muslims versus Chinese Communists. But it ain't that easy in Afghanistan. The only logical resolution should be tabled at the Afghanistan London should be based on the principle of self determination - in Afghanistan. In this 21st Century, one would expect Afghanistan London Conference to, seek:

1. Withdrawal of all foreign forces - immediate & unconditional.

2. Allow the conflict to be resolved by Afghan on the principle of self determination and establish
a government (i) of the afghan (ii) for the Afghan (iii) by the Afghan.

3. OIC
& UN to be involved in that process.
