IRGC ends 3rd day of drill amid threats.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has wrapped up the third phase of a major military exercise in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz after the US threatened Iran with a nuclear attack.

Codenamed the 'Great Prophet 5', the massive air, land and naval maneuvers kicked off on Saturday with the main aim of preserving the security of the region.

Belgium to debate ban on Islamic veils such as burka

Under the new law, women in Belgium could be jailed for wearing such veils
Belgium lawmakers are due to debate legislation that would ban full-face Islamic veils in public. 

If they approve the draft law, Belgium would become the first European country to ban the wearing of the burka or niqab in public places. 

Critics say a ban violates the rights of those who choose to wear such veils. 

However, it was unclear whether Thursday afternoon's vote would go forward after a Dutch-
speaking party pulled out of the government.

Julian Assange, the editor of WikiLeaks.org, told Al Jazeera that the footage, released on Sunday, corroborates witness testimony.

The video is believed to show a US helicopter firing at civilians in Iraq in 2007, during an attack in which 12 civilians were killed, the website said.

Israel threatens more Gaza attacks

31% Muslims live below poverty line: NCAER survey

NEW DELHI: Nearly one third of Muslims in the nation survive on less than Rs 550 a month, economic think tank NCAER said, amid the ongoing debate on reservations in jobs and educational institutions for those belonging to the community.

A survey by the National Council for Applied Economic Research (NCAER) said that three out of every 10 Muslims were below poverty line and lived on less than Rs 550 a month in the year 2004-05.
