While Western public opinion is fed information about the constitution of a purported international coalition to fight against the “Islamic Emirate”, the latter changes shape discreetly. Its principal officers are no longer Arab, but Georgian and Chinese. For Thierry Meyssan, this mutation shows that NATO ultimately intends to use the “Islamic Emirate” in Russia and in China. Therefore, both countries must act now against the jihadists before they return to sow chaos in their countries of origin.

The “Islamic Emirate” initially displayed its Arab origin. This organization sprang from “Al-Qaeda in Iraq” who fought not the US invaders, but Iraqi Shiites. It became the “Islamic Emirate in Iraq” and the “Islamic Emirate in Iraq and the Levant.” In October 2007, the US Army seized 606 records of foreign members of this organization near Sinjar. The records were inventoried and examined by experts from the Military Academy at West Point.

Iran issues warning after targeting U.S. drone

DUBAI | Fri Nov 9, 2012 8:05am EST

(Reuters) - Iran said it would deal decisively with any foreign encroachment into its airspace, an apparent warning to the United States after one of its surveillance drones was targeted by Iranian warplanes last week.

On Thursday U.S. officials said the unarmed Predator drone was in international airspace when Iranian warplanes opened fire on it on November 1. The aircraft was not hit.

The intercept was the first time Tehran had fired at an unmanned U.S. aircraft in their 33 year stand-off.

"The defenders of the Islamic Republic will respond decisively to any form of encroachment by air, sea or on the ground," Fars news agency quoted General Massoud Jazayeri, a senior armed forces commander, as saying on Friday.

"If any foreign aircraft attempts to enter our airspace our armed forces will deal with them," he said. Jazayeri did not mention the drone incident specifically.

Chechen refugees living in limbo in Turkey

Without that status, they are not permitted by law to have a job or attend schools in the country.

The refugees, many of whom had to flee Russia's wars in Chechnya, are pushing Turkish officials to grant them those rights.
