A draft law on Russia's withdrawal from the IMF was submitted to the State Duma
A group of deputies of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, headed by faction leader Gennady Zyuganov, submitted to the State Duma a bill on Russia's withdrawal from the agreement on joining the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The document was published in the Duma electronic database on Friday.
"To denounce the protocol on Russia's accession to the International Monetary Fund, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association, signed in Washington in October 1992," the document says.
They believe that it makes no sense for Russia to continue to participate in the IMF. "Russia's stay in the IMF did not help prevent the adoption of sanctions against Russia (unilateral economic measures), which clearly contradict the main goals and principles of this organization," the deputies point out in explanatory materials.
In the second bill, it's proposed to suspend "the most favored nation treatment for services originating from states that have suspended or canceled the most favored nation treatment for Russian services."
Also proposed is to denounce the cooperation agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The EBRD has not financed projects in Russia since 2014, and in April 2022 the Board of Governors of the EBRD decided to suspend Russia's access to the bank's resources in connection with the SMO.

"The 2014 Minsk agreements were an attempt to buy time for Ukraine," former German Chancellor Angela Merkel admitted in her interview with Zeit.
According to her, Ukraine "also used this time to become stronger".
"Ukraine in 2014/15 and Ukraine today are not the same. As you can see by the battle for Debaltsevo, in early 2015 Putin could have easily taken them over. And I very much doubt that NATO countries could have done then as much as they do today to help Ukraine," the former chancellor said.
According to Merkel, "the Cold War has never ended because Russia has not been pacified".
"NATO has also deployed troops in the Baltic states, in order to show that we, as NATO, are ready for defence," she added.
Germany should have "reacted more quickly to Russia's aggressiveness", as Berlin's military budget never reached 2 per cent of GDP, Merkel concluded.
Remember that Germany was the guarantor for the implementation of the Minsk agreements, but at the end of the day, we see that the Western countries did not even plan to guarantee that implementation, their only goals were to buy time and to pump Ukraine with their agents, weapons and Nazi ideology.
It's the typical activity of western politicians, but surely deceiving Russia in this matter will cost them dearly. Ironically, Germany is now suffering colossal losses from the war in every aspect.

A confession by former German chancellor Angela Merkel about the Minsk peace agreements could be used as evidence in a tribunal involving Western politicians responsible for provoking the Ukraine conflict between Moscow and Kiev, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned on Thursday.
The deal, brokered by Germany and France, was supposed to be a roadmap for peace in the war-torn country. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that his country's current military offensive was prompted by the failure to implement the terms of the accords.
The former German leader admitted in an interview with Die Zeit on Wednesday that the actual purpose of the Minsk agreements was to give Ukraine time to prepare for a military confrontation with Russia.
“They talk a lot about legal assessments of what is happening around Ukraine, certain tribunals and so on in all sorts of ways,” Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a media briefing on Thursday. “But this is a specific reason for a tribunal.”
She claimed that Merkel’s comments were nothing short of the testimony of a person who had openly admitted that everything done between 2014 and 2015 was meant to “distract the international community from real issues, play for time, pump up the Kiev regime with weapons, and escalate the issue into a large-scale conflict,” Zakharova added.
She said Merkel’s statements “horrifyingly” reveal that the West uses “forgery as a method of action,” and resorts to “machinations, manipulation and all kinds of distortions of truth, law and rights imaginable.”

The spokeswoman claimed that the West had known well in 2015, when it spent hours negotiating the second part of the Minsk accords, that it would never even attempt to fulfill any part of the agreements and would instead pump weapons into Kiev.

Frankly speaking, I did not expect to hear this from the former chancellor, because I have always assumed that the German leadership behaves sincerely with us. Yes, of course, it was on the side of Ukraine, supported it, but it still seemed to me that the German leadership has always sincerely sought a settlement on the principles that we agreed on, within the framework of the Minsk process.

The "new principles" concept recently inked by Dmitry Medvedev come directly from Vladimir Putin commentary on Angela Merkel confession about the misleading nature of Misnk Agreements.
Merkel basically admitted that the agreements were made in order to give Ukraine some time to build the military strength and accumulate amo for the future assault on Donbass and Russia.
Vladimir Putin concluded that this was an unexpected and dirty trick.
"Just how would we be able to come to any agreements in the future? What kind of guarantees would we have?
Honestly, I didn't expect this.
It is now perfectly clear that we have acted on time and made the only right choice by starting the SMO and preventing the major assault on us that was being prepared during the last years."
He continued:
"Our nuclear doctrine implies that in case we are attacked we will use strategic nuclear weapons in our defense. But in the view of the last events we might just use some "new principles".

House passes massive $858 bill for US Defense Dept.

The US House has passed an $858 billion bill to fund the Defense Department next year, $45 billion more than what was proposed by President Joe Biden.
The House passed the compromise version of the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, an annual must-pass bill which sets policy for the Pentagon, sending it for a final vote in the Senate in the coming days, and then to the president to be signed into law.
The NDAA, which was released after weeks of negotiations on Tuesday night, passed with a strong backing from both Democrats and Republicans, recording 350 in favor of the bill to 80 votes against the legislation.
The defense bill is critical in shaping the US military’s future.
The legislation provides Ukraine with at least $800 million in additional security assistance next year and includes a range of provisions to strengthen Taiwan amid increasing tensions with China.
It also authorizes more funds to develop new weapons and buy systems including Lockheed Martin Corp's F-35 fighter jets and ships made by General Dynamics.
Among the changes in the 2023 defense policy legislation is a provision to scrap the Pentagon’s COVID vaccine mandate for active duty service members.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had voiced support for keeping the Pentagon’s COVID vaccination policy in effect.
However, the COVID mandate had recently emerged as a red line for conservative Republicans, who threatened to reject the entire bill if it wasn’t rescinded.
Despite his support for the Pentagon’s COVID vaccine mandate, Biden is now expected to sign the defense bill after Senate's approval.

The UN Security Council has rejected a Russia-drafted resolution to establish a commission to investigate joint military-biological activities of Ukraine and the United States on Ukrainian territory. Russia and China voted in favor of the resolution. The United States, UK and France opposed it while 10 other UN Security Council countries abstained.
"We are extremely disappointed with the fact that the Council failed to employ the mechanism of the Convention on Biological and Toxin Weapons today. It states that each member-country of the Convention obliges to cooperate in any investigation that may be carried out by the Security Council in accordance with the provisions of the UN Charter on the basis of a complaint received by the Council," First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said (https://tass.com/politics/1531799) at the UNSC meeting on Wednesday.
Earlier, the UN Security Council rejected the draft resolution readied by Russia, which suggested setting up a commission to investigate the activities of US biological laboratories in Ukraine.

DEC 4, 2022 - If people are thinking about complaining about the situation in their country - please be aware of what Syria is going through right now.
1. Electricity: most areas in Damascus and countryside have only had 30 minutes to one hour in last 24 hours. In the rest of Syria especially rural areas no electricity for 3 days at least.
2. Poor performance of the landline phone network and terrestrial internet due to lack of fuel to run generators during the time of power outage and even the towers powered by solar energy almost shut down because of cloudy weather.
3. Most of the large factories reduced their distribution because their vehicles have no fuel and many closed down until next week - crippling many industries and supply chains.
4. Some government institutions could not conduct electronic transactions on Wednesday and Thursday because there was no electricity or internet.
5. Shops and markets throughout Damascus are closing at sunset because there is no fuel for their generators.
6. Private bakeries reduced production of bread because they cannot operate their machines and ovens.
7. Restaurants reduced production and are only serving cold food or barbecue for the same reasons.
8. Diesel and fuel have disappeared even from the black market with 20L of BM fuel now at 200,000 Syrian pounds (average salary is 150,000 per month = $ 27, most are earning less).
9. Most government subsidised fuel stations are closed.
10. Queues at the remaining fuel stations are for 24 hours plus. Quantities that do arrive are not enough for demand. There is a restriction of 30L per month anyway.
11. There is a system of sending a message to car owners to come and get their ration of fuel - now there are delays of three weeks for the SMS to be received. Before it was every few days.
12. There is no gas available (bottles) and if they are available on the black market you are talking 150,000 SYP and above, impossible for most people. The average family will use one bottle per week for cooking etc. The bottles are also very poor quality and dangerous.
13. There is no public transport. The roads are literally empty. This means a huge problem for employees and employers with staff unable to come to work etc.

UN expert calls for lifting of long-lasting unilateral sanctions ‘suffocating’ Syrian people - 10 Nov 2022.
UN Special Rapporteur on unilateral coercive measures and human rights Alena Douhan today urged sanctioning States to lift unilateral sanctions against Syria, warning that they were perpetuating and exacerbating the destruction and trauma suffered by the Syrian people since 2011.
“I am struck by the pervasiveness of the human rights and humanitarian impact of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria and the total economic and financial isolation of a country whose people are struggling to rebuild a life with dignity, following the decade-long war,” Douhan said.
