The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has wrapped up the third phase of a major military exercise in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz after the US threatened Iran with a nuclear attack. Phase three of the war games carried out on Saturday focused on defending the Persian Gulf coasts and islands, featuring anti-heliborne attacks and asymmetrical war tactics.
Commander of the IRGC's ground forces Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said the naval, air and ground forces conducted a joint exercise on Saturday to ward off mock enemy attacks.
Smart artillery munitions were used during Saturday's drill to repel invaders.
Meanwhile, Commander of the IRGC's naval forces Rear Admiral Morteza Saffari announced plans to launch four surface-to-sea naval missiles on Sunday.
