AlJazeeraEnglish | October 29, 2010 -A branch of al-Qaeda is claiming to have formed a new army in the south of Yemen.
But the military is denying claims that the group is extending its reach. Government forces have stepped up efforts against fighters in Shabwa province, the scene of frequent clashes in recent months.
Several men on the government's most-wanted list have been arrested in the last week.
