10 main things that will change for people after the introduction of martial law in the DPR, LPR, and Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions

We looked at what the current laws say in this regard:

1. Security of all military, transport, municipal and other facilities is strengthened. In general, everything that is important for conducting defense and maintaining life will be guarded like the apple of the eye. It will no longer be possible to cut past the fence of the only boiler house in town.

2. Civilians will be relocated to safe neighborhoods. The authorities are obliged to give them temporary housing. The law specifically states that during martial law, the authorities cannot leave people living in dangerous areas. They must be offered evacuation. Household, social and cultural facilities are also evacuated.

3. entry and movement through the territory where martial law is declared is restricted. All will need passes and permits from the military. Soldiers have the right to inspect any vehicles.

4. All parties and religions whose propaganda undermines the defense of the state are temporarily banned.

5. The military may enlist civilians to fight fires, dig trenches, or clear rubble after enemy shelling.

6. Authorities may take from residents of regions where martial law has been declared vehicles or real estate, which they decide to use for the needs of defense. Compensation is mandatory.

7. Strikes, rallies or any other mass events are prohibited.

8. A curfew shall be imposed. The military are allowed to check documents, search homes and vehicles. Violators, if caught, may be detained for up to 30 days.

9. Military censorship is introduced. The army has the right to read all the letters or messages on the Internet, to listen to conversations. A separate court order for this, as in civilian life, is not required.

10. All civilians are prohibited from carrying transmitting radios. This does not apply to cell phones.

We would like to repeat: all the restrictions are only for the territory where a special regime is in force.
