Turkey restricts Israeli use of airspace:

June 28, 2010 | Turkey has clamped down on Israel's use of its airspace, according to a statement from the Turkish prime minister and information from a Turkish government official.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Monday that his country's airspace had been closed to Israeli aircraft in the wake of the Israel's May raid on a Turkish ship that was part of a Gaza aid flotilla. Nine Turkish activists were killed in the raid, which has caused an epic rift between the two countries.

But the government official, who declined to be identified, told CNN that "this is not exactly the (complete) closing down of Turkish airspace."

All civilian flights are continuing, the official said. "With regard to military flights, the normal procedure is that for each ... flight countries, must ask for permission to use Turkish airspace. It is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. It is true that one Israeli flight was not allowed into Turkish airspace. ... Any

future military flights will also be evaluated on a case-by-case basis."

The official did not give on details on the origin or destination of the flight that had been turned away.

Israeli officials have defended the legality of the May raid and criticized those aboard the ship for attacking the boarding party.

Israeli Transportation Minister Israel Katz said Monday that the country's planes would continue as usual with takeoffs and landings on flights between the two countries.

Better wait than talk now!

Taliban 'rejects' Afghan peace offer.

AlJazeeraEnglish — June 06, 2010 — Delegates at the just concluded Afghan peace conference - locally called the jirga - have called on the government to hold talks with the Taliban.

They said that talking to the armed group was the war-torn country's best, and possibly last, chance for peace.

About 1,500 delegates, representing Afghans across the political and social spectrum, attended the meeting in Kabul's southeastern suburbs.

The aim of the jirga was to formulate a plan for Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, to hold reconciliation talks with the Taliban.

Shortly after the jirga ended, Karzai initiated his first move, ordering that Taliban fighters being held in Afghan jails on doubtful evidence must be released.

But achieving reconciliation seems difficult with Taliban fighters not too keen to negotiate.

Many of them say they are winning the war and did not see the need for negotiations.

Hidden Flotilla tapes have been smuggled out of Israel .

June 04, 2010See 7:56 SD cards hidden in a passengers underwear will show the world the that Israel is lying and trying to cover up a mass murder. Also ask yourself this- Israel has been saying again and again that these ships were full of terrorists, some even said al-qaeda. Why, after knowing this would highly trained Israeli marines board the ships with paintball guns?? If they knew they were terrorists. Can you imagine if they were actually terrorists and several marines died. What would the Israeli parliament say about that. Sorry Benjamin but we only gave them paintball guns to protect themselves with. Israel knew this was a peaceful aid mission and by killing some of the passengers has sent a warning message to other's thinking of taking aid to Gaza.
