Merkel was not allowed to establish a dialogue with Putin before...

Merkel said she was not allowed to establish a dialogue with Putin before leaving the post of German Chancellor

In an interview with Der Spiegel, she said that the start of the special operation was not unexpected, because the Minsk agreements were destroyed.

“In the summer of 2021, after the meeting between Presidents Biden and Putin, I wanted to again create a separate European format for negotiations with Putin, together with Emmanuel Macron in the EU Council. Some objected to this, and I no longer had the strength to insist, because everyone thought about me: “She will leave in the fall,” Merkel said.

Merkel admitted that she was not allowed to establish a dialogue with Putin

The ex-Chancellor of Germany, in an interview with Spiegel, said that she was prevented from arranging a negotiation process with Moscow. According to Angela Merkel, the beginning of the SMO was expected and did not surprise her, the reason was, among other things, Kiev's failure to comply with the Minsk agreements.

“In the summer of 2021, after the meeting between Presidents Biden and Putin, I, together with Emmanuel Macron, once again wanted to establish an independent European format for discussions with Putin in the EU Council. Some objected, but I no longer had the power to move it forward. After all, everyone knew: 'she will leave this fall,'" the ex-chancellor admitted.

Merkel noted that in the event of her candidacy, she would continue to try to establish peace talks. But during her last visit to Moscow, the politician felt that her time in politics was over. The old approach, she said, would not resolve the issues of tensions in Ukraine, between Transnistria and Moldova, Georgia and Abkhazia, as well as conflicts in Syria and Libya.

In search of Truth MH17

The District Court of The Hague has ruled that the MH17 aircraft shot down in 2014 was hit by a Buk air defense system launched from Pervomaisky in Kharkov region

Source https://t.me/rtnews/32527

......................

☝️ On November 17, the Hague court has finally delivered a verdict on MH17 case. Two Russian nationals, Igor Girkin and Sergey Dubinsky, and Ukrainian citizen Leonid Kharchenko were declared guilty of complicity in the crash of Malaysia Airlines MH17 in eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. The defendants were given life sentences in absentia.  all of whom held leadership positions in anti-govt militias.

A fourth defendant, Russian citizen Oleg Pulatov, was declared not guilty. Pulatov was the only person on trial who chose to be represented by a lawyer. He was found not guilty.

➖According to comments of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both the proceedings and the outcome of the trial prove that the process was based on political agenda with the objective to blame Russia for the tragedy.

➖Throughout the entire proceedings the court had been under unprecedented pressure from politicians and the media. The court ignored the fact that the conclusions of the Dutch prosecutors were based on evidence from anonymous witnesses whose identities had been classified, as well as questionable information and materials provided by an interested party – the Security Service of Ukraine, which had been repeatedly caught giving false and contradictory information.

➖Arguments of the defense with regard to lack of any compelling and decisive evidence that MH17 was shot down by a Russian missile was ignored. The court considered only materials that supported the West-promoted version were while declassified documents provided Russian Defense Ministry have been ignored.

➖There was an option to receive more clear evidence from US satellite images taken on the day of the crash, but Washington has refused all requests to disclose them fully or partially.

➖Blindly accepting questionable evidence from an interested party, ignoring evidence provided by defense and issuing the verdict on the basis of assumptions instead of facts violate all common principles of justice including the presumption of innocence. No modern system of law envisages issuing life sentences on the basis of indirect evidence and assumptions.

➖These court hearings are some of the most scandalous in the history of justice with numerous violations of the process and biased nature of the jury. The verdict will surely become a part of history as an example of complete dependence of European justice system on political decisions of the collective West.

..........

Russia will not have to comply with the decision of the Dutch court in the case of the crash of the MH17 aircraft in Ukraine in 2014, there are no international acts in this regard, Pavel Laptev, the first representative of the Russian Federation at the European Court of Human Rights, said, noting that in the case inconsistencies. According to the lawyer, on the fragments of the Buk missile found at the crash site of MH17, the number ended with the numbers 7379, which indicated that it belonged to Ukraine, but this fact was not taken into account by the court. - AZgeopolitics

Russians Sentenced To Life Over MH17 Downing WON’T Be Extradited

The two Russians sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment in the case of the downed Malaysian Boeing MH17 will not be extradited to the Netherlands, a law enforcement source told Interfax.

"The Constitution of the Russian Federation establishes a direct ban on the extradition of Russian citizens to foreign states. That is why neither one nor the second convict will be extradited," the source said.

   >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

And here is the court's decision on the crash of flight MH-17 in the sky over Donbass.

The court sentenced Girkin, Dubinsky and Kharchenko to life imprisonment in absentia, but Pulatov was acquitted.

The Hague was expected to be convinced that the Buk missile was allegedly imported into the territory of the DPR from Russia.

Russia's direct connection with the incident was not confirmed, and according to the judge, the actions of the air defense crew "cannot be established, it is unclear who gave the command to launch the missile." This tells us that the whole terrible story plus the long trial is trumped up, since the West has not provided direct evidence to the court.

Thus, the West milked this information and political cow the best it could, but it did not have a powerful anti-Russian effect.

And I want to remind my readers of the materials of my main investigations into this incident:

Lebanon to get its maritime riches, but anti-normalization policies in place

 By Hiba Morad ~ Wednesday, 26 October 2022 1:05 PM  [ Last Update: Friday, 28 October 2022 9:08 AM ]

The maritime border demarcation deal to define the boundary between Lebanon and the Israeli regime, which cooked slowly over 12 years, is expected to be signed by the end of this week.

US special energy envoy Amos Hochstein said on Sunday that Lebanon and the Israeli apartheid regime are likely to sign the new maritime boundary deal on Thursday.

However, the closer the signature time, the more risky things get and the more the possibility for last-minute tactics to appear.

The signature is set to take place in the Lebanese town of Naqoura, with delegations from Lebanon and the Israeli regime signing the deal in separate rooms. Lebanon is not expected to sign the agreement until after the apartheid regime does so.

A strict no to normalization

University professor and expert on international law, Dr. Ali Fadlallah told the Press TV Website that the Israeli regime is trying to take advantage of the situation to break Lebanon’s refusal of normalization by sending journalists and politicians among the delegation members.

“Lebanon stringently refused to have civilians on the delegation as it sticks to its policies that oppose normalization with the Israeli occupying enemy," he asserted.

The political analyst stressed that Lebanon firmly reiterated multiple times that military personnel are the only ones qualified to be part of the delegation in what cannot be called talks or discussions, assuring this is sort of a ‘treaty’ or ‘deal’ and that the two delegations will not meet but rather be sitting in separate rooms while the mediator does the work.

“There was pressure for a joint meeting and declaration of the treaty and this did not and will not happen. These cannot be called direct talks, but it is rather a treaty that is taking place through a third party which is the UN, and this is not new for Lebanon,” Dr. Fadlallah said.

Lebanon says it seeks its interests but will never let go of its anti-normalization mandates. These are based on three connected sets of laws: the Lebanese criminal code, the 1955 Boycott Law, and the Code of Military Justice.

Anti-normalization is also an integral part of the culture in Lebanon. In several sports events, even young and teenage players withdraw from competitions and international tournaments to show a strong stand against normalization.

Recently, in August, the Lebanese player Maggie Qassem Fawaz withdrew from the 4th Abu Dhabi international tournament after a draw set her up to confront an Israeli contestant.

Also in February, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Hezbollah's stance on the issue was "based on the non-recognition of 'Israel'," asserting Hezbollah's opposition to any conspiracy to normalize, cooperate, or coordinate with the Israeli occupation within the framework of border demarcation.

Dr. Fadlallah also noted that up until the last moment when the deal is signed, doubts will remain to loom on the horizon on whether it will take place or not and whether the US will keep its promises and stick to the text of the final proposal of which Lebanon approved after requesting some changes that were done.

Hezbollah’s pivotal role in deal

Now, despite the upcoming elections in the Israeli occupying regime, the news on the deal kept Israeli media busy during the past few weeks, reflecting the regime’s worries and dissatisfaction with the situation.

For instance, Israeli media said the maritime demarcation agreement with Lebanon proved the weakness of Lapid's government in protecting "Israel's" invulnerability.

Meanwhile, Israeli army general Yitzhak Brick told Israeli media that the Israeli occupation has lost its military strength over the past two decades, exposing "Tel Aviv" to various threats, and Israeli former Brigadier General Amir Avivi said on Tuesday that Hezbollah has forced the Israeli apartheid regime to submit and kneel.

Also, Israeli political analyst Rafif Droker stressed that the Israeli regime would have delayed the maritime deal with Lebanon for 200 years had not it been for Hezbollah's military power.

On this note, Dr. Fadlallah explained that fear was clearly reflected in the Israeli media, underscoring that the Hezbollah resistance movement should be thanked for its efforts in this case.

“The role of the resistance is very pivotal. Before praising the negotiator, we should praise the gun that backs and protects the negotiator and of course, this is an international value or conception in the world of negotiations as expressed by French sociologist, historian and political commentator Raymond Aron,” he further elaborated.

There is enough evidence seen in the statements and words of Israeli officials and journalists on how seriously the Israeli regime takes Hezbollah and understands pretty well the dimensions of the matter even though the enemy cannot be trusted and try to maneuver in different ways.”

A New equation

Hezbollah will be setting a new equation in the region: the power and war of wills.

“The wills of the people of the region are becoming stronger, their will to extract their natural resources is incremental, owing to the fact that Lebanon stood up for itself and is demanding its rights in its own waters,” Dr. Fadlallah noted, adding “Such an example gives the people of the region gradual courage to follow the lead of Lebanon. The peoples of the region will wake up eventually and this is an essential point.”

Israelis have maritime stations and platforms and this is another strategic goal that will be on the bank of targets in any coming war whether with Lebanon or the Palestinian resistance, of course Lebanon does not intend to start a war, but in case it takes place or the Israeli regime starts a war, then these will be targeted.

Moreover, the fact that important international companies are willing to extract oil from Lebanon is significant since it will allow for the revival of the economy and making use of natural resources.

Israelis clearly expressed in their media that “they feel an imminent strategic fear and anger for being broken and for kneeling, and this is a huge matter,” Dr. Fadlallah concluded.

Reaching a deal was a very slow process; it took twelve years to get to this point today, yet awaiting the signature of the deal. But it was when Lebanon’s Hezbollah sent out its straw in the wind that the Israeli regime understood the message, and the world saw an outcome.

FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DEAD UKRAINIANS - AND COUNTING

Oct 26  ~  Pepe Escobar

The imperially-ordered War Till the Last Ukrainian is merciless.

Like the figures coming from an OSINT investigation.

"Irretrievable losses" of the Ukrainian army so far; a staggering 402,000 - of which 387,000 killed.

CRUCIAL: losses among MERCENARIES and VOLUNTEERS from Poland, Romania and the Baltic midgets: 54,000 - of which 31,240 killed.

OSINT data was calculated using reports from funeral agencies, extracts from morgues, and analysis of radio, cellular and satellite exchange of forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Committee of Soldiers' Mothers of Ukraine entered more than 320,000 appeals "about the fate of missing soldiers"; but the SBU BANNED THEM.

These are not documented; OSINT instead based their investigation on statements by members of the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers, orally and on social media.

Even the former deputy head of the US European Command (EUCOM), Stephen Twitty, said in an interview with Linke Zeitung that “200 thousand fighters somehow mysteriously disappeared from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and no one will say where they are today”.

Zelensky wants peace talks in a reality show format - Russia

Russia believes Ukraine is making a mockery of peace talks – RIA

Moscow suspects that Kiev wants to turn negotiations into “a TV show,” a source told the news agency

Ukraine wants to make a spectacle out of peace negotiations, instead of earnestly pursuing a diplomatic resolution to the current conflict, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported on Thursday, citing a Moscow source.

The report comes after Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on Wednesday that he would like to have negotiations with Russia in “a public format,” rather than behind closed doors.

“Russia has not changed the position that it is open to negotiations – unlike Kiev, which first requested [negotiations], then abandoned them, and now is ready to renew them but is putting forward inappropriate preconditions,” the source was quoted as saying.

“Kiev’s new idea of ‘public’ negotiations, which is an attempt to turn diplomacy into a TV show, proves the unseriousness of its intentions.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov replied on Thursday that the notion of public negotiations “doesn’t exist.”

“One thing is obvious: The Ukrainian side doesn’t want any talks,” he added.

U.N. General Assembly calls for Russia to make reparations in Ukraine

November 15, 2022  |  By

Nov 14 (Reuters) - The United Nations General Assembly on Monday called for Russia to be held accountable for its conduct in Ukraine, voting to approve a resolution recognizing that Russia must be responsible for making reparations to the country.

The resolution, supported by 94 of the assembly's 193 members, said Russia, which invaded its neighbor in February, "must bear the legal consequences of all of its internationally wrongful acts, including making reparation for the injury, including any damage, caused by such acts."

The resolution recommends that member states, in cooperation with Ukraine, create an international register to record evidence and claims against Russia.

General Assembly resolutions are nonbinding, but they carry political weight.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called the resolution an "important" one.

"The reparations that Russia will have to pay for what it has done are now part of the international legal reality," Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address.

Kyiv's Ambassador to the U.N. Sergiy Kyslytsya told the General Assembly before the vote that Russia has targeted everything from factories to residential buildings and hospitals.

"Ukraine will have the daunting task of rebuilding the country and recovering from this war, but that recovery will never be complete without a sense of justice for the victims of the Russian war. It is time to hold Russia accountable," Kyslytsya said.

Russia's U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia told the General Assembly before the vote that the provisions of the resolution are "legally null and void" as he urged countries to vote against it.

"The West is trying to draw out and worsen the conflict and plans to use Russian money for it," Nebenzia said.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, said on the Telegram messaging app that the "Anglo-Saxons are clearly trying to scrape together a legal basis for the illegal seizure of Russian assets."

Fourteen countries voted against the resolution, including Russia, China and Iran, while 73 abstained, including Brazil, India and South Africa. Not all member states voted.

In March, 141 members of the General Assembly voted to denounce Russia's invasion, and 143 in October voted to condemn Moscow's attempted annexation of parts of Ukraine.

Zelenskiy on Saturday said Russian forces destroyed critical infrastructure in the strategic southern city of Kherson before fleeing. Moscow denies deliberately targeting civilians, although the invasion has reduced Ukrainian cities to rubble and killed or wounded thousands.

"It will take a broad international effort to support Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction in order to build a safe and prosperous future for the Ukrainian people," Britain's U.N. Ambassador Barbara Woodward told the assembly.

"But only one country, Russia, is responsible for the damage to Ukraine, and it is absolutely right, as this resolution sets out, that Russia pay for that damage."

At least 83 Muslim Americans elected in 2022 midterm elections: Report

 Monday, 14 November 2022

Muslim Americans have made history again as a record number of Muslim candidates were elected into office in the 2022 midterm elections, despite rampant hate and discrimination against the faith community.

At least 83 Muslim candidates swept up local, state, and federal seats during Tuesday’s midterm elections, according to a joint analysis by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a civil rights and advocacy group, and Jetpac, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing Muslim political representation in the United States.

Almost 150 Muslim Americans had run for office this year, including 51 state legislative candidates across 23 states.

"I'm inspired by the historic wins we are seeing in local and state elections across the country. It shows that the Muslim community is building solid infrastructure for sustained electoral success," Jetpac Resource Center executive director Mohammed Missouri said.

"Policy decisions on education, housing, climate, and civil rights are shaped by state legislatures and it is critical that our voice is represented in the policymaking process," he added.

Many of the wins were in Republican-leaning states, including Texas, Virginia and Georgia, and included 20 incumbents and 17 new candidates. Those seats range from city councils to the US House of Representatives, where congresswomen Ilhan Omar, Democrat of Minnesota, and Rashida Tlaib, Democrat of Missouri, retained their seats.

This marks the highest number of electoral victories for the community of around 3.5 million people, breaking the record of 2020, when 71 Muslim Americans were elected into office.

CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said the "historic string" of victories in this year’s election "is a testament to our community's ongoing rise in American politics and the trust our neighbors have place in us to represent them and fight for their interests."

"We are witnessing the next step in the American Muslim community's political transformation from marginalized voices that were sidelined, or worse, to decision makers," he said. "These newly-elected officials are building upon the success of our community's decades-long investment in civic engagement, voter registration and running for office."

The victories also ushered in some historic firsts, with state legislatures in Maine, Illinois, Ohio and Texas getting their first Muslim American representatives.

In Illinois’ 51st District, Nabeela Syed, a 23-year-old Muslim candidate of Indian descent, defeated a Republican incumbent to become the first Muslim elected to the state legislature.

“It is so important for us to have a seat at the table, for us to have a voice in the legislative process,” she told local media soon after her victory.

Similarly in Minnesota, 25-year-old Zaynab Mohamed, a Democrat, became the first Muslim woman of Somali descent to be elected to the state Senate.

Four Muslim Americans were elected to state office in Georgia for the first time, including Ruwa Romman, who won a seat at the state House of Representatives, and Nabilah Islam, who was elected to the state Senate.

In Texas, the first two Muslim lawmakers getting elected into office were Salman Bhojani and Suleman Lalani, who won elections to House districts 92 and 76 respectively.
