Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev sharply criticized the anti-Russian resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly.
Earlier, the participants of the special session of the General Assembly adopted a resolution on the creation of an international register of damage allegedly caused by Russia to Ukraine, as well as recognition of the need to create a compensation mechanism.94 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 14 voted against, 73 abstained.Medvedev called the situation "beginning of the agony of UN."In his Telegram channel, he noted that "the Anglo-Saxons are obviously trying to create a legal basis for the theft of illegally seized Russian assets.""They should accept the same recommendation on the full compensation by the United States for damage to Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Yugoslavia and other numerous victims of the Americans and NATO," the Deputy Chairman said.In his opinion, the unilateral policy of the UN will lead to a "torturous end" for the entire international community."We can live without such a "united nations" organization," Medvedev concluded.
